Bauhaus’s Kevin Haskins

Drummer Kevin Haskins of iconic goth-rock band Bauhaus got interested in music as a teenager in the late ’70s, when his brother took him to a punk-rock festival in the basement of the 100 Club in London. The headlining band was the Sex Pistols, and the Clash was the opener. Other punk legends, including Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and the Banshees, were there, too. This particular show was really exciting to Haskins. As he recalls, “I thought, ‘I can do this! I don’t have the chops to be John Bonham, but I have the chops to play in those bands.’ It was a huge inspiration to me.” Haskins got his start on a four-piece Premier drumset in Red Sparkle finish, with a 15″ floor tom placed to the left.
