There is always a lot to be learned from a drummer who has been successful in the music business for 60 years. Jimmy Madison has seen it all. In 1966, he toured with Lionel Hampton. He came to New York in the late 60s to work with the legendary pianist Marian McPartland, he produced records and ran his own record company throughout the 70s, he led a big band in the 80s, and he recorded several small group jazz records as a leader. Throughout his career Jimmy has toured and/or recorded as a sideman with musical legends like Quincy Jones, James Brown, Ron Carter, Joe Farrell, George Benson, Jack Walrath, Eddie Gomez, Stanley Turrentine, Red Rodney, David Matthews, and Mark Murphy.
