A Personal Remembrance and Tribute Ringo Starr and I waited at the top of his Los Angeles driveway. It was November 2006, and as noon approached, I turned to ask Ringo, “When was the last time you and Charlie saw each other?” It had been a long time—probably backstage somewhere in passing—but with the Rolling Stones in town to play at Dodger Stadium, I’d managed to orchestrate a photo shoot that would reunite the drumming legends.
