Rustic Percussion’s Padauk Temple Blocks: A True Passion For Quality

Rustic Percussion was founded in 2018 by Percussionist-Drummer, Ryan Langford, in an effort to make high quality, craftsmanship worthy, percussion instruments. As well as playing these instruments on the job, Ryan is truly a wood craftsman! Rustic Percussion’s various instruments can also be found in the percussion sections of major orchestras as well as many other professional applications around the world. Modern Drummer received a set of five Rustic Percussion Padauk wood temple blocks to knock around and see what we thought. So, that’s exactly what we did: We knocked them around to see how far we could push them. Rustic Percussion uses Padauk wood instead of other popular woods, such as birch, for the playing surface because of its rich, warm, and earthy timbre and tone.
