In music, it is not who you are, but who you are with. I have been incredibly lucky to write, record, and perform with some amazing musicians for more than half a century. Sadly, many of these band mates are no longer with us, and I wondered, “What could I do to express my true, sentimental feelings about their passing?” Then, a very creative friend of mine, Ron Williams—of RonzWorld Guitar Gallery—came up with the idea of airbrushing Felix Pappalardi, Leslie West, Steve Knight, Jack Bruce, and Noel Redding right on the outer barrels of my tom-toms. So, now I can sit on this kit surrounded by my mates. I can take them with me on the road and in the studio.
