As a musician and a drummer, I feel that drumming (and music) can help improve the world. Yes, I truly believe that!!! I believe that if more people were taught to enjoy music (and play drums) the world would be a far better place. Music teaches us empathy, problem solving, history, commitment, improvisation, faith, self-confidence, humility, how to make mistakes (and fix them,) patience, and about the MANY different people and cultures of our world. The lessons of music and drumming can be applied to anything that life offers us, good and bad. I often tell people that, “Drums is Life, and Life is Drums.” However, this is not just a trite mantra about my lifelong commitment to drumming.
