We Can (and Should) Learn from Everybody!

As drummers, it seems like everyone always wants to give us advice, whether we asked for it or not. “You should use a smaller set,” or “You need a bigger kit.” There is always someone suggesting that we, “Lay back on the time,” “Be more aggressive,” or “Play softer, or louder…)” It can get confusing, sometimes it seems that everyone thinks they know what’s best for us. As a developing musician, it’s our responsibility to listen and learn from absolutely everyone. That is part of learning. But as a professional, it’s important to listen and filter the good advice from the bad. As a pro, it’s our responsibility to take it all in, especially if it comes from the boss.
