Meinl Introduces New Anika Nilles Lunar Ride and Hats Meinl Cymbals has expanded its collaboration with Anika Nilles with the introduction of the new Lunar Ride and Lunar Hats, adding two new signature sounds to the drummer’s setup. The release is highlighted by the 22” Anika Nilles Lunar Ride, a B20 bronze cymbal designed to combine projection and definition with the musical character Nilles was looking for. The 22” Lunar Ride is an extra-heavy model with a large bell and a traditional finish. Meinl describes its character as cutting, explosive and musical, with a mid-bright timbre, high volume and long sustain. The cymbal uses narrow-blade lathing and is designed to provide enough projection for powerful playing while maintaining warmth and musicality. The visual design is also distinctly Nilles.
