Zak Starkey has long been regarded as the only drummer capable of adequately carrying the torch for The Who’s original drummer, Keith Moon. His 30-year gig with The Who, might have been considered a career highlight, but a lot has happened since Zak Starkey was infamously sacked last year from his gig as the drummer in The Who. Instead, Zak is eagerly planning the next chapter of his already amazing musical journey. Zak Starkey’s musical history started the day he was born to Beatle drummer Ringo Starr and his wife Maureen Starkey in the epicenter of the exploding 1960s rock music world. The entirety of the London music scene were regular guests in the Starkey home.
