Green Day’s Gear Geek Tré Cool has a drum warehouse. Few people outside of the Green Day family likely know exactly how many drums are in there, but after talking to Cool about his collection, I’m kind of thinking it looks like the vast “Hangar 51” at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. After all, this is a musician who is constantly on a quest for better tone, more consistent tone, and more appropriate tone—which is why he needs some massive, mystical warehouse chock full of options to help manifest the sounds he hears in his head.
