The guys over at Doc Sweeney Drums are well known for putting together a high-quality product. They are also known for having no fear when it comes to thinking “outside the box.” A lot of people like to throw that phrase around, but I think it really applies here. I received a brand new Hollocore Maple Snare Drum to try out and I was immediately intrigued. Steve Stecher, the lead drum guru and a founding member at Doc Sweeney Drums, wanted to design a drum with serious built-in lows, and a fat punchy sound that had power and musical significance.
