Drumming history has a wonderful lineage of fantastic and illustrious teachers: George Stone, Gene Krupa, Jim Chapin, Alan Dawson, Joe Morello, Gary Chester, Joe Porcaro, Gary Chaffee, Peter Erskine, Carmine Appice, John Riley, Pete Magadini, and many more. According to Pete Magadini (and I agree), the best teachers also know how to play the drums. As you will see, Pete has had a long and distinguished playing career that compliments his own teaching, which led to his wonderful books. But it happened in that order. Along the way, Pete also learned from a long lineage of great teachers. Starting in 2023, he will be an adjunct music professor at Boise State University in Idaho, specializing in drumset.
