Latin Percussion Single Brass Timbales Versatility and Choices

Latin Percussion (LP) has been around for decades. I am literally still using LP cowbells I bought back in the 1970’s. (No, I’m not that old, I just started young!) LP is not only known for making outstanding cowbells but they have led the way in hand and ethnic percussion instruments as well as congas, bongo drums, and (yes) timbales. As part of the “LP Your Kit” line of percussion instruments, LP sent Modern Drummer a pair of their new, single-mount brass timbales. This was quite a fun review for me as I have been an “LP Guy” for a long time and have spent a lot time playing their timbales and most other things LP.
