This month’s Modern Drummer documents another milestone in our drumming community’s storied history: Carl Palmer and the reunion tour of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. It’s hard to believe that EL&P has not performed for many years, but they’re back, and Welcome Back (to be clear!) Here we are in 2022 and the tour will last well into 2023 and 24. In the spirit of what inspires each of us to drum, perhaps even the impetus of what fuels our passion for drumming, I want to share a short story.
