With its nine distinct red rubber pads and backlit LCD, it’s hard to miss the ddrum NIO Percussion Pad. It’s been on the market for a few years now and is one of the more popular entry-level percussion pads available. I’ve been eager to get my hand on one for a while, and for this month’s Product Close-up, the folks at ddrum were happy to oblige. What’s in the Box The NIO is packaged securely in a black flip-top box, along with the user’s manual, a power supply with detachable prongs for various countries, and a 3.5mm to ¼ inch headphone adapter plug.
