To other, perhaps younger fans, he’s familiar as the bandleader and comic foil to Conan O’ Brien, when the latter hosted NBC-TV’s Late Night with Conan O’ Brien and the short-lived Tonight Show with Conan O’ Brien. And, to many even younger people, he’s the father of veteran Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg. To even fewer, he’s the author of one of the greatest drumming books ever written called The Big Beat.
