You’ll have a better grasp of the harmony if you keep going back to it.” Marcus Aurelius Practicing isn’t just done in the practice room, it’s in all our habits, routines, and rituals. Without health, family, and the right people around us, we find out pretty quickly how worthless a noble pursuit like drumming becomes. Without purpose and meaning behind it, we’re building monuments on sand. There are six baselines that allow us to soar. Without these in place, it’s like launching a spaceship that isn’t built to withstand the forces of takeoff. As soon as it hits any real velocity, it falls apart.
