This month’s Modern Drummer Kit of the Month comes to us from Atlanta’s Richie Jones of the band Asydequest (A-side-quest.) His kit is a wonderful Sonor Vintage Series kit in a Rosewood finish. The 9 ply beech shells are 8×10”, 8×12”, 12×14”, 14×16”, and 14×20.” His snare is a 6.5 x 14” beech Sonor Ascent, his side snare is a Yamaha Paul Leim Signature 6.5 x 14” (nickel over brass with gold plated lugs,) and his secondary side snare is a 4 x 10” Pearl M-80. Richie’s cymbals are a 20” Zildjian K Ride, 18” Zildjian K Dark thin crash, 20” Crescent Stanton Moore Trash Crash, 14” Sabian HHX Legacy hi- hats, and two 6” Trexist splashes. He uses a Pearl Eliminator double pedal, TreeWorks wind chimes, LP rock cowbell, and a Rhythm Tech Pro tambourine. This is a beautiful looking and sounding kit! Good luck on your “quest” Richie!
