Yamaha EAD50

When Yamaha introduced the EAD10 drum recording system, it quietly rewired a lot of drummers’ expectations around recording. Clamp on a sensor, plug in a module, put on headphones, and suddenly you were producing a polished kit sound without fighting with mic placement, cable management, phase issues, and lost inspiration. It was a way to get out of your own way.  Now Yamaha has expanded that idea with the release of the EAD50. The core concept is familiar— real drums, fast setup, immediate results— but, as Yamaha’s engineers emphasized in our recent call, this isn’t an “EAD10 with a few extra knobs.” The EAD50 is built to go much deeper.
