Techra, an Italian drumstick manufacturer, sent Modern Drummer a few more pairs of their carbon fiber drumsticks to bang around. In our last review of Techra sticks (MD 2023), we looked at the Black Diamond series, 5A, and 2B sizes. Taking a phrase from that review, Techra says this about their sticks: “[These sticks] are the perfect choice for drummers seeking durability, precision, and unparalleled sound quality,” and “feature a patented design that merges power with comfortable maneuverability, making them ideal for both hard-hitting and fine playing styles.” This time around, Techra sent three different pairs of sticks in total. The Colossus in 5A, the X Carb in 7A, both in black, and the red, Hammer of the Gods, in 5B sizes.
