Think of yourself not as a drummer, but a sound crafter. Each zone of the kit has a voice. How does each one make you feel? Do you see colors or shapes? Can you feel the vibrations in your body? Having the courage to boldly explore keeps things exciting and new. This is our ‘playground of awesome!’ Staying curious is how drumming transforms both our inner and outer worlds. You may have sat behind your drums a million times, or this may all be new. No matter where we find ourselves at any moment, we can see what we do with fresh eyes.
