In Modern Drummer’s first look at the new series of Recording Custom Snare Drums, we looked at the Birch and Brass shell models. This time we are going to look at a few more shell versions of this storied series. Steve Gadd was instrumental in developing the series and worked with the Yamaha team in Japan to develop these outstanding offerings. Yamaha’s Recording Custom Snare Drum line is certainly a top pick for many recording artists. Yamaha sent Modern Drummer two more versions in different sizes of the group: Aluminum and Stainless-Steel Snares.
