Steve Gadd, Sublimation in Action

One would need to be the proverbial hermit living in a cave since the mid-1970s to have not heard the drumming of Steve Gadd. And one would necessarily be a grinch or a grouch to not appreciate the skill, power, and charisma of his drumming. Of all the drummers to have come along since the heyday of legendary jazz icons (say, from Art Blakey up through Jack DeJohnette,) it is my considered opinion that Steve Gadd has exhibited and exerted more influence and skill than any other drummer.
