When David Lehnert purchased his first home in 2017, he sought his own studio with his dream drum set. He chose a Tama Starclassic. We’ll let him pick up the story from there. “The light jade burst is a timeless look that is reminiscent of a 1950’s Cadillac. I was naive by choosing bubinga wood. It was exotic and my choice had nothing to do with tone. I couldn’t be luckier since the shells sound amazing and the Starclassic line discontinued using bubinga shortly after my purchase.  With tone, I do not know how to explain it, but I can feel the high tom in my chest when I play with headphones.
