Classic Renown 57 I was immediately aware I was in two kinds of big trouble when I opened the initial press-release announcement for the Limited Edition Gretsch Classic Renown 57. Big Trouble Number One: The photos of the kit in its silver oyster pearl nitron finish were beyond spectacular, and I wanted to purchase the whole shebang without even hearing it. Big Trouble Number Two: What if my desire was wrestling my reason to the mat, and I was jones-ing for a kit that looked like Gal Gadot but sounded like Fran Drescher? Let’s take this journey together, and see if I’d actually jettison tone for a sparkly little jewel… Follow the Specs he original special-edition Renown 57 kits debuted in 2011, decked out in either Motor City blue, red, or black, and all bearing white chevron logos.
