Future Past….The Clean, Articulate, Sensitive, and the FOCUSED! The Past The 1928 catalogue for the Slingerland Banjo & Drum Company was quite possibly the first “real” catalogue for this “new” drum company. It was chock full of a plethora of high-quality drums and accessories that were designed to give Ludwig (and Leedy) a real run for their money. Most of the Slingerland drums looked very similar, except when you turned them around to reveal the Slingerland snare throw-off and the very distinct “Cloud Badge” logo. One of the very effective innovations that Slingerland did introduce was called the “Tone Flange.” It was quite possibly one of the first real advancements in drum technology in decades.
