But Stan Lynch has had a very special and wide-ranging career in music. There was the 19 years of his influential and groove-filled drumming with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, then, his surprising departure from the band. That’s when his career took an interesting turn, and many of us probably lost track of him. He was still playing drums, but he also started focusing on producing and composing. Since then, Stan has co-written hit songs with some of the best songwriters around, including Don Henley, Danny Kortchmar, Roger McGuinn, Raul Malo, Dan Baird, Rodney Crowell, Matraca Berg and Steve Lukather.
