What prompted you to start playing drums? When I was at school, I used to listen to the radio and records a lot. When I was younger, it was sort of the start of the techno-rock thing. I was brought up on groups like Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull and that sort of thing. I listened to those drummers a lot. I got some drumsticks because I was attracted to the drums and liked the sound. 1 would play along with records and think, “This is quite easy.” 1 used to sort of know what was coming next. I knew when there was a roll coming and I could keep in time with it. How old were you? I must have been about 13.
