Zach Danziger has been working on some new triggering concepts, examples of which can be seen in the clip from a June 12 Mr. Barrington performance at Shapeshifter Lab in Park Slope, Brooklyn. “I’m triggering all of the music from pickups on my drums and cymbals,” Zach explains. “Each trigger is attached to a part of the track—bass drum triggers bass line, hi-hat triggers chords, rim triggers an arpeggiator, etc. I’m still messing around with different configurations to find the one that gives me the most flexibility and options. There’s a ton of stuff that you can do with the technology if you think the setup through. It’s gonna be a process!” We’re certainly looking forward to hearing how it’s all coming along in the upcoming months.
