Hello, world! Some of you may know me, but some of you may not. My name is Nick Rich, and my grandfather was Buddy Rich. I’m currently drumming and writing for a new band called NEFU, which stands for Now Everything’s Finally Understood.
The past few years of my life have molded me into the man that I am today. I battled with addiction for ten years and have been sober since October 2011. The band name refers to the purpose of why I believe I’m here on earth and what my goals in life are.
There is so much music out there that doesn’t lift people up or provide them with a message of hope. Our music is a positive light in a dark world. I’m grateful to be able to have a second chance at life and give glory to God in all that I do.
We’ve already begun demoing material for the record, and we are beginning to record it the first of the New Year in Chicago with Jim Peterik. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my amazing family and all the true friends that stuck by my side, even when I was at my lowest. Drummers and musicians alike, if you are battling with addiction or any other issue, please know that there is a way out, and you are not alone. There is always hope!
Look for our CD in 2013, and thank you for reading.
