I’m excited to bring you Part 3 of my series on practicing drums without a drum set! This workshop series is conducted using what I call the Imaginary Drum Set. This allows you to perform coordination exercises anytime, anywhere, without any equipment. Below, I’ll show you how it works. Sit on a chair at the correct height. From above, your legs should form a V-shape, and from the side, your thighs and calves should be positioned at roughly a right angle to each other. In principle, you’re sitting exactly as you would at a real drum set. You play your imaginary snare with a wrist movement, with your right hand on your right thigh and your left hand on your left thigh.
