Excerpted from the June/July 1980 issue How did you first meet Keith Emerson and Greg Lake? It just so happened at the time in London when Emerson and Lake were getting together I was kind of the only guy in town who was doing all the work. Doing quite a few sessions with various people in London. Keith’s manager called me and asked what I was doing. I was pretty busy. What kind of a musical experience was E.L.P. for you? For me, it was fantastic. As far as the group was concerned it was just what I needed at the time. I managed to put into practice most of the knowledge that I had gained.
