Following the release of the Classics Custom Dark ride, Meinl cymbals introduces the Classics Custom Dark hi-hat and Dark crashes. The 14″ Dark hi-hat has a bright and warm stick response combined with a tight and pronounced chick sound. The Dark crashes, available in 16″, 18″, 19″, and 20″, feature a full frequency range of fairly loud and cutting crash sounds. Additional hammering was applied to both the Dark hi-hat and Dark crashes which adds a slightly trashier note to their overall sound characteristic. The new Classics Custom Dark hi-hat and crashes are made in Germany using computer controlled hammering and lathing techniques with a special heat treatment.
