On September 2nd, 1972 I was about to attend my first rock concert. I was 12 years old. It was the last day of summer vacation. The next day would be my first day in the eighth grade. I hated school and I loved rock and roll. As thrilled as I was about attending a real rock concert, I dreaded the school year that was waiting for me the next day. My excitement for rock and roll easily squelched any thoughts of school from my pre-teen mind. Rod Stewart and Faces headlined the show at the Seattle Center Coliseum.
