News: Philadelphia “Community Unity Music Festival??? Planned for August 15, 2015

Philadelphia “Community Unity Music Festival” Planned for August 15, 2015Jazz drummer Justin Faulkner, of the Branford Marsalis Quartet, is planning a music festival to promote nonviolence and unity in the Philadelphia community and to provide musical opportunities as a positive alternative for troubled youth.

The festival will be called “A Day to Remember.” From the live performances and inspirational speeches from city and state dignitaries to games, face painting, and food, this will be a moment for the community to come together to show its young people that creativity enriches the soul.

The Community Unity Music Festival has created the “Each One Teach One Coalition,” which gives five deserving students a scholarship for private lessons with the distinguished faculty of one of the festival’s partners, the Clef Club for Jazz and the Performing Arts. Advertisement
