In this video from NAMM 2015, a trio of DW employees, Rich Sikra, Ruben Steinhauser, and Beto Benitez, takes us on a tour through many of the company’s new offerings in hardware, drumsets, snares, and accessories.
New to the MDD line is a hi-hat stand that has a free-floating feel, drum key spring adjustment, folding footboard for easy transport, and a new hi-hat clutch, called the One Touch Clutch, that allows for easy one-handed operation.
For the PDP Concept line the company added a direct-drive bass drum pedal that adds many of the features of higher-end DW pedals at a lower price point.
The extensions to DW’s 6000 series hardware include the Ultra Light. The features include refinements to last years’ 6710 Ultra Light cymbal stands, including new wing nuts and a new tilter system. The new Ultra Light snare stand features a hex-aluminum-brace design for strength and an adjustable spring-loaded brace that holds the drum securely in place.
DW has added a few new additions to its Design Series drumkits. First, they are now available in matte black and white gloss finishes. DW also added single-headed Concert Toms that are sold in two, two-set configurations: a 5×6 and 5×8 set and 5×8 and 5×10 set, all feature HVLT maple shells.
DW has brought back its Mini Pro kits for the weekend warriors who don’t want to lug around larger drumsets.
If you want to dress up your front bass drum hoop, DW now offers Luxe leather hoops for 22″ bass drums. The synthetic leather handles climate change better than real leather and is available in five colors.
Other new accessories from DW include True Pitch 50 tension rods (fifty threads per inch), a GoPro camera mount, 2-ply drumheads, and a tuning table with rotating carpeted surfaces and a carrying case.
In the Icon snare drum series, DW added a Neil Peart laser-cut hand-inlaid drum made of Romanian river oak that features the covers of all of Rush’s albums.
There are several other new offerings from DW. Watch the video to see them all.
