Omar Hakim’s composition “Molasses Run” first appeared on record when he joined the legendary fusion band Weather Report for its 1983 album, Procession. Thirty years later, he revisited the song for his new solo album, We Are One. Here Omar plays the song’s main beat at speed, and then slows it down so we can get a better look at the sticking.
