Ken Koudelka of Lillian Axe
Hello, fellow Modern Drummer loyalists, Ken Koudelka from Louisiana Music Hall of Fame members Lillian Axe here.
I was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, and I started playing drums at the age of thirteen. My major influences are John Bonham, Phil Rudd, and Joey Kramer. My musical likes range from AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, and Van Halen to Linkin Park, Disturbed, Kid Rock, and Nickelback.
Before I joined Lillian Axe in 1998, I worked my way up the ranks of the Los Angeles and Dallas club scenes, playing in the bands Shock Tu, Last Temptation, and Crabtree. I recorded albums with Last Temptation and Crabtree during those years. I’ve also played on the Lillian Axe albums Live 2002, Waters Rising, Sad Day On Planet Earth, Deep Red Shadows, and our newly released eleventh album, XI: The Days Before Tomorrow, which was mixed by platinum-selling producer Sylvia Massy. That album debuted at number 53 on the Heatseekers chart, and we’ve been receiving many five-star reviews for it. We’re getting ready to hit the road on two U.S. tours this summer, in September we tour Europe, we play the Fire Fest in the U.K. on October 21, and then we’ll do another round in the States.
Pick up our new album and check it out; you won’t be disappointed. See you on tour!
