Zildjian Launches Drummer Love Europe

On the heels of its highly successful US Drummer Love contest, Zildjian has decided to launch Drummer Love Europe, bringing the event to the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Russia. The contest runs from April 2 through July and includes video submission, voting, and tour components. Ultimately, six lucky drummers will win Zildjian cymbals, sticks, gear, and Gen16 products as well as prizes from Converse, Hard Rock Café, and Robert Downs Photography. In addition, the winning drummers will be featured in a Zildjian advertisement in media outlets in their respective countries.

Drummers from the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Russia should visit Zildjian.com/drummerlove to upload a link of their playing, alone or with a band, and submit a short story describing why they currently love to play or would love to play Zildjian cymbals. Manu Katché, Simon Phillips, and Gavin Harrison will be assisting with the judging of submissions, and will narrow the pool of contestants to just two finalists from each country. The final decision of who ultimately wins some Zildjian Drummer Love will be determined by the public, who will cast their votes at Zildjian.com/drummerlove.

Drummer Love Europe is closely based on U.S. Drummer Love, which launched last spring. Drummers across America submitted videos and shared their personal stories in the hopes of receiving some Drummer Love from Zildjian. With some help from guest judges Tommy Lee, Kenny Aronoff, and Questlove, the field of drumming hopefuls was narrowed down to twelve finalists. Then, nearly 100,000 people from around the world voted for six winners representing six regions of America. Advertisement
