July 28 – August 9, 2012 – Salvador da Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo

Professor Frank Oddis, Morehead State University, and Professor Jason Koontz, Eastern Kentucky University, are conducting a Brazilian Percussion and Cultural Tour in the summer of 2012. The 14 – day tour will visit three cities in Brazil, Salvador da Bahia (the African Capital of Brazil), Rio de Janeiro (the capital of carnival), and the metropolis of São Paulo, to study  different genres of traditional Brazilian music. Two tracks of Brazilian Percussion study will be offered (hand drum and drum set) with workshops being offered in all three cities.
