Drummers, On the Beat

Josh Hetrick of Candlelight Red

Hi MD! This past July 29, at the First Niagra Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA, Candlelight Red had the opportunity to open for Kiss. All I can say is, opening up for Kiss and sharing the same stage on was exhilarating, definitely one of the high points of my drumming career! I got a huge rush of adrenaline playing on the massive stage and from the crowd. Getting to meet Eric Singer was the icing on the cake. Everyone in Kiss and their crew were so polite and accommodating towards us. They really made us feel welcomed. We could have not had a better experience opening for a bigger act.

Candlelight Red has just been confirmed as one of the bands that will be performing on the Jagermeister mobile stage at the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival. The show will take place at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain Amphitheatre in Scranton, PA, on August 27. The show also features performances by some of my favorite bands—Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Halestorm, and Hellyeah, among others. Our band’s debut EP is available through iTunes, and the band is gearing up to release a full-length album soon. Thanks again, MD!
