Drummer Brian Vodinh of 10 YearsPROJEKT REVOLUTION WEEK

Wow, let me just start by saying that Projekt Revolution is a hot, sweaty, and amazing tour! We’re a week or so into the tour now and having a blast. We’re the second-to-last band to play on the Revolution stage, and we’ve been in front of some ridiculous crowds. The rain has been following us around, but that’s okay. It kind of wakes everyone up and adds a new lively energy to the shows.

Our set time every day is 3:20 p.m., and I have to say, it’s pretty funny seeing a couple of the big-time night owls in our band try to crawl out of bed at a decent time and get ready to play. So far everything has been great, though.

Our stage closes around 5:00 p.m. every day, so after all the people head to the main stage, our area becomes a big parking lot for grilling out and playing our summer game of choice–cornhole! Come on, get your mind out of the gutter, I know what you are thinking! Cornhole is a game where you have wooden platforms with holes in them placed twenty feet or so apart, and then you try to toss little bags full of dried corn onto the platform or into the holes. We have officially started the Projekt Revolution Olympics! Advertisement

On a different note, the catering on this tour is simply amazing! Any touring musician will appreciate great catering. Steak and lobster–hell yeah, thanks Linkin Park!

This tour is definitely a lot of fun, and we make it a point to watch Chris Cornell’s set every single day. That guy has really got it together. He’s been playing the hits from Soundgarden and Audioslave, and his voice sounds better than ever. We’re also pretty excited about the handful of headlining shows that we have scheduled for some of the off days of Projekt Revolution.

It feels nice to get back into a club environment and be able to play a long set and have OUR crowd there. The biggest piece of news I can offer you right now is that we’re going to be releasing a new single to radio in the next month or so. It will be a song from our Division album called “So Long, Good-bye.” This song is going to be the black sheep of radio for the end of summer, as it’s an acoustic song that is very stripped down and kind of inspired by the singer/songwriters of the ’70s. I actually play the acoustic guitar on this song, so for me it’s a lot of fun to perform because it gives me a chance to step away from my drumkit and do something a little different. We’ve had a blast playing this song live, and we hope everyone will fall in love with it when they hear it on the radio.

More to come, see you at the shows!
