2024 was a wild ride for gear reviews! From acoustic and electronic drum products and accessories to pro audio and software, I’ve learned a ton, and hopefully managed to share my insights in a way that was equal parts fun, unique, and informative. Needless to say, reviewing products for Modern Drummer is a dream gig! To provide a unique perspective that informs and inspires readers, I feel it is important to think outside the box. When reviewing a product, I like to channel my inner mad scientist: Why did they use a certain material? What was the thought process behind this design? How does this product stack up against everything else out there? What would happen if I put it in the microwave? (OK, maybe not that last one.)
