Stanton Moore's "Spirit of New Orleans" Drum Camp

Special guests for SONO7 include some of New Orleans’ most talented artists and educators including, drumming legends, Johnny Vidacovich (Astral Works/Professor Longhair), Shannon Powell (Harry Connick Jr./Branford Marsalis) and Herlin Riley (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra/Wynton Marsalis). This exclusive 3-day music camp celebrates the legacy and rich musical tradition that is uniquely NOLA. Students will enjoy three, 8-hour days of masterclasses and hands-on drumming, as well as opportunities for private lessons with guest artists. SONO7 also features three evening concerts in some of New Orleans most legendary live venues.Moore has also announced an all-new camp for 2019 – “Inside the Drummer’s Studio” (IDS), December 21st & 22nd. IDS offers 10 attendees the chance to spend two days inside Moore’s personal recording studio and leave the camp with a professional 4-camera video performance of a play-along track of their choice. SONO7 and “Inside the Drummer’s Studio” are produced by Nine Beats USA.

 

The exclusive “Spirit of New Orleans” Drum Camp offers a limited number of students the chance to play with and learn from superstar drummer Stanton Moore in an ultra-intensive classroom setting. Each student will play on an individual practice drum kit for a total of 24 hours of specialized, small group instruction allowing for an incredibly intense, educational experience that guarantees results. The camp includes sessions and demos from Moore and his guest artists, Johnny Vidacovich, Shannon Powell and a Sunder afternoon Masterclass from Herlin Riley. Camp admission also includes three live shows including The New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars at d.b.a., Dragon Smoke at legendary New Orleans venue, Tipitina’s, and the Sono7 Finale Concert at Snug Harbor with performances from The Stanton Moore Trio featuring David Torkanowsky and James Singleton.

 

The all-new “Inside the Drummer’s Studio” drum camp is hosted at Moore’s personal recording studio located in the heart of New Orleans. This ultra-exclusive two-day camp is limited to only 10 students who will each have a chance to film a professional, 4-camera video recording of a track of their choice using Moore’s Gretsch USA drumset and the full suite Audix mics and professional recording equipment used to record lessons for the stantonmooredrumacademy.com. Moore accompanied by his recording engineer will share drum recording and mic-ing tips and as well as work with students to hone their playing skills with an emphasis on the recording process.
