Paul Allen and the Underthinkers Everywhere at Once
Microsoft co-founder and technological specialist Paul Allen also likes to pick up a guitar once in a while and play the blues. For his major-label debut on Legacy Recordings, he assembled an all-star cast including drummer Gary Novak, and even called on Joe Walsh to play guitar and sing on one track. All proceeds from the record will go towards the organization EMP Museum.
Chick Corea The Vigil
With The Vigil jazz royal Chick Corea debuts a new quintet featuring drummer Marcus Gilmore. Gilmore comes from an impressive lineage; the renowned Roy Haynes is his grandfather. Pernell Saturnino also plays percussion on the record.
Elvis Presley Elvis at Stax: Deluxe Edition
The great Elvis Presley’s sessions at the legendary Stax recording studio have been reissued with plenty of photos and extensive liner notes. The deluxe three-disc package includes cuts and out-takes from the albums Raised on Rock (1973) and Good Times (1974). Drummers Ronnie Tutt and Jerry Carrigan appear.
Norma Jean Wrongdoers
The Georgia-bred metalcore group is out with their sixth full-length album. Clayton “Goose” Holyoak plays drums for the Grammy-nominated rockers.
