iW Drums, maker of custom LED kits for drumsets, has rebranded itself to DrumLite. “We are super excited about this rebrand as we feel the DrumLite name better exemplifies what we are here to do,” said co-founder Jeff Sevaldson. The move comes after iW Drums, which launched out of a college dorm room in 2011, started getting wide recognition from peers as DrumLite. “Before we even had a website, we started a Facebook page for our company that we had named DrumLite. Ever since then a lot of people have tended to recognize us by that name instead of iW Drums,” mentioned lightsmith Joey Nesbitt. “It’s been a long time coming.”
DrumLite is also launching a new website this month that will be fully self service, have a new color scheme and pictures, more videos, and a custom quote tool. “This new site is really going to blow our old one out of the water. It will be super user friendly and a lot cleaner,” says Sevaldson.
Since its original inception in 2011, DrumLite has expanded from a college dorm room to a full second floor of a house to its most recent move to a standalone manufacturing and office space near Minneapolis, MN. The owners have also had the opportunity to work with multiple big name artists such as Sugarland, Def Leppard, Delta Rae, Team Cybergeist, Street Drum Corps, and Saga, as well as numerous custom shops. “We are pretty stoked about our growth as well as the direction that we are heading,” mentions Sevaldson. “We do have some new products coming out that may or may not have to do with vintage drums and triggered lights,” he adds.
