Hey there, MD readers, glad to be posting again in the Modern Drummer blog. Hope your 2011 is going fantastic so far. I’d like to update you on some things I have been doing so far this year.
First off I am very excited about the new Aaron Pritchett album, In The Driver’s Seat. This album truly captures Aaron’s voice, and the tunes are rockin’. The first single, “Light It Up,” was in heavy rotation internationally, and the video is on CMT, with me on drums. Aaron’s latest single, “Drive,” which was written by Bryan Adams, has just been released to radio. We’re having a blast playing this material live and look forward to a very busy yea. Check out Aaron’s link below for more info.
I’ve also been busy gigging with EMI artist One More Girl. What a talent these girls are. They won the rising star award at last year’s Canadian Country Music Awards and are working on their sophomore album with Tom McKillip and the very talented Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Hinder, Shania Twain). This show is a blast; check them out below as well.
On the teaching side, we are looking at expanding our drum department at Music In The House, as we are swamped with students but quickly running out of space. I have also still been writing articles for The Black Page magazine and have articles in the latest Canadian Musician and on the Hudson Music website. And I’m putting together the plans for our “Drum Day” in September 2011. This promises to be a huge event featuring a couple of top names in the drumming community.
I’m proud to be added to the endorsing list for KickPort and Moon mics. These are two amazing products that you should check out. I’ve also been busy doing lots of teaching in the school boards as well as trying to put together a plan for an upcoming clinic tour. If I get my act together, the book I’ve been working on for the past two years might see the light of day by the end of this year.
I hope 2011 treats you all well. Take care and stay groovy.
