Benefit Drum Circle In Santa Cruz, CA On Oct 4, 2009, percussionist/community drumming leader Jim Greiner, (pictured above center, in red shirt) led 75 people in an "upbeat" drum circle to benefit Santa Cruz, CA area Veterans Services. The event took place at the downtown Santa Cruz Veterans Memorial Building. The Percussive Arts Society (PAS), and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) sponsored the benefit as part of their recent Recreational Drumming: Celebrating Health & Wellness program. This event was part of Jim's monthly veterans benefit drumming circle series and brought in families with children, adults of all ages, and a number of Veterans. In a local radio interview, Greiner, a navy veteran, acknowledged the people of both PAS and NAMM for, "bringing the healing and community building power of rhythm to our local Veterans!"
