Modern Drummer Announces Initial Line-Up Addition For Drum Festival Weekend 2008!

Modern Drummer is pleased to announce the addition of
Thomas Pridgen to the Modern Drummer 2008 Festival line-up.

Thomas Pridgen
The Mars Volta
Thomas Pridgen’s been winning drum-offs, endorsements, and scholarships since the second grade. And now he’s in the coolest, most advanced rock band of the age.

Ndugu Chancler
Michael Jackson/Santana/Weather Report
He’s the big beat behind Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean,” the “carnaval” in Carlos Santana’s festival of sound—and an indisputable studio legend at the top of his game.

Simon Phillips & Protocol
Toto/The Who/Jeff Beck
A true giant of rock and fusion drumming, and a revered clinician, Simon Phillips has been enrapturing audiences with his ultra-precise chops for over thirty years.

Gavin Harrison
Porcupine Tree/King Crimson
Gavin Harrison’s head-turning neo-progressive drum work and popular advanced tutorials leave drumming fans enlightened—and amazed.

Todd Sucherman
Styx/Brian Wilson
There are over 6 billion people on this planet. Maybe a half a dozen of them posses the advanced drumming talents of Todd Sucherman.

Dafnis Prieto
Michel Camilo
Dafnis Prieto is one of jazz’s most intriguing drummer/leaders. His taste, technique, and tremendous musicality will leave Festival attendees awestruck.

Derek Roddy
Serpents Rise/Traumedy
The fastest gun in the West is also one of the heaviest and most mind-bending. And Roddy’s recent book, The Evolution Of Blast Beats, is an instant classic.
