Modern Drummer Web Update NewsUpdate News Mike Portnoy is on Avenged Sevenfold’s fifth studio album, Nightmare. The Dream Theater drummer came on board to fill in for the late James “the Rev” Sullivan, who began working on the record before his untimely death. Portnoy will also be touring with the band on the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival this summer.
